Job Description


We are seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant to support our accounting team during a critical period of growth and transition. This is a 3–6 month assignment with a retail company headquartered in Santa Monica. The ideal candidate will bring a mix of strong technical accounting skills, retail/consumer industry knowledge, and the ability to step into a fast-paced environment and make an immediate impact.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own day-to-day accounting functions including month-end and quarter-end close activities.
  • Reconciliations, financial staements, GL, journal entries
  • Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and adjustments.
  • Assist with inventory accounting, cost of goods sold (COGS), and retail-related reconciliations.
  • Drive process improvements and recommend efficiencies for accounting operations.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a mix of public accounting and industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Retail, consumer goods, or multi-location experience a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, month-end close, and reporting practices.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP/accounting systems (NetSuite, Oracle, or similar preferred).
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • A proactive, detail-oriented, and collaborative approach.

Assignment Details
  • Duration: 3–6 months (potential for extension).
  • Schedule: Full-time; hybrid/onsite in Santa Monica.
  • Compensation: Competitive hourly rate (DOE).
