As an Assistant Controller, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records and reports. Working closely with the Controller and finance team, you will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance activities. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in financial management, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Duties and Responsibilities

Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, industry regulations, and company policies.
- Provide insightful financial analysis to support decision-making processes.

Accounting Operations:
- Oversee daily accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
- Manage the month-end and year-end close processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies.

Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Collaborate with department heads to develop and manage budgets.
- Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts and variance analysis.
- Contribute to strategic financial planning initiatives.

Internal Controls:
- Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Monitor compliance with internal control policies and procedures.
- Identify and address control deficiencies.

Audit Support:
- Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits.
- Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for audit inquiries.
- Address audit findings and implement recommendations.

Process Improvement:
- Continuously evaluate and improve accounting processes for efficiency and accuracy.
- Recommend and implement best practices in financial reporting and controls.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation preferred.
- Proven experience in a financial management role within the financial services industry.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
