Senior Retail Accountant
Location: Irvine - Onsite (4 days a week)
Responsibilities:
ARG is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Retail Accountant to join a phenomenal team in Orange County and play a key role in managing the accounting functions for a historic retail brand. In this position, you will work closely with the Assistant Controller to ensure accurate financial reporting and contribute to the continued success of their brand.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements specific to the retail brand.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
2. General Ledger Management:
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger accounts related to retail operations.
- Monitor and analyze accounting data to identify discrepancies or issues.
3. Inventory Accounting:
- Oversee inventory accounting processes, including valuation and reconciliation.
- Collaborate with relevant departments to ensure accurate inventory reporting.
4. Sales and Revenue Recognition:
- Manage the recording and reconciliation of retail sales transactions.
- Ensure proper recognition of revenue in accordance with company policies.
5. Expense Management:
- Monitor and analyze retail-related expenses.
- Work closely with department heads to manage budgets effectively.
6. Financial Analysis:
- Provide financial insights and analysis to support decision-making.
- Assist in forecasting and budgeting processes for the retail brand.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5 years proven experience in accounting / FP&A with retail, eCommerce & P&L background.
- Strong understanding of retail principles and practices.
- Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in relevant accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Reporting Structure:
This position reports directly to the Assistant Controller.
