Accountant – Real Estate Lease
Location: South OC, CA (Onsite; hybrid eligible after 90 days)
Employment Type: Full-Time, Exempt
Compensation: $95,000 – $105,000 annually (DOE) + potential bonus
About the Opportunity
Alliance Resource Group is working with a client in the healthcare space seeking an Accountant – Real Estate Lease to join their team. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and visibility into lease-related costs across a real estate portfolio.

This position plays a key role in managing lease accounting processes, supporting strategic decision-making, and ensuring timely and accurate reporting in accordance with GAAP standards.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform month-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations in accordance with ASC 842
  • Analyze lease agreements to determine appropriate classification (operating vs. finance leases)
  • Prepare quantitative and qualitative disclosures for quarterly and annual reporting, including maturity analyses and weighted average lease terms
  • Provide budget-to-actual variance analysis and actionable financial insights
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual GAAP-compliant financial statements
  • Support internal and external audits, including preparation of schedules and acting as a primary point of contact
  • Assist with ad hoc analysis and special projects as needed
  • Maintain knowledge of applicable regulations and accounting standards
  • Support process improvements and contribute to operational efficiency
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA or equivalent strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 4+ years of accounting experience and/or 2+ years in public accounting
  • Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Experience with lease or real estate accounting preferred
  • Healthcare industry experience is a plus

  • This role is based onsite in San Juan Capistrano, CA, with potential for hybrid flexibility after a 90-day period
  • Pre-employment background screening required
