Job Description

Our family office client is seeking a Staff Accountant to join the team. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for day-to-day accounting for the family office's related entities. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Bank Reconciliations, Investment Reconciliations and Reporting, and Compliance. Success in this role requires attention to detail, ownership of responsibilities, and the continued process improvements supporting efficient, timely, and accurate financial reporting. This role reports directly to the Associate Controller.
  • Prepare reconciliations and analyses of bank account, brokerage, loan, and inter-company accounts and assist with the establishment and maintenance of such accounts.
  • Maintain Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
  • Prepare journal entries on a timely basis in support of the month-end close process.
  • Prepare and maintain monthly amortization and accrual schedules.
  • Collaborate with team to create financial reporting packages for distribution to management.
  • Assist in billing process for  related entities.
  • Update and maintain procedure documents to promote control policies and procedures.
  • Assist with audit, tax, compliance, and other operational functions as needed.
  • Other ad-hoc projects as needed.
Requirements:
  • 0-3 Years experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • General accounting knowledge (debits/credits, financial statement reporting).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (v-lookup, pivot tables) and Word.
  • Proactive attitude toward learning, workload completion, best practices, and communication.
Good to Have:
  • Experience with QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, Bill.com
  • Public Accounting Experience.
  • CPA Candidate.
