Job Description

Alliance Resource Group is engaged with a growing environmental services company company in the recycling industry who are poised for massive growth. 

Position Summary

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented AR/AP Specialist to join our client's growing finance team. This role will be responsible for full-cycle accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, with a heavy emphasis on mastering vendor and customer data integrity in SAP Business One.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone early in their accounting career who is eager to learn, grow, and eventually take on broader responsibilities in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.

Position Responsibilities

Accounts Payable
  • Maintain and update vendor master data: contact information, payment terms, tax documentation.
  • Validate and update vendor banking information in SAP.
  • Reconcile vendor statements with internal records; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
  • Manage weekly payment scheduling across multiple entities.
  • Ensure proper booking and approval of vendor invoices; enforce PO matching process.
  • Communicate directly with vendors regarding payment status and inquiries.
  • Ensure vendor invoice accuracy, including correct entity name and address.

Accounts Receivable
  • Maintain and update customer profiles: contacts, payment terms, and master contract files.
  • Monitor overdue accounts and follow up on collections.
  • Reconcile customer accounts and resolve billing issues.
  • Upload invoices to customer portals and manage follow-ups (primarily one major customer).
  • Assist in creating credit memos and resolving delinquencies as needed.

Data & Systems
  • Ensure integrity of master data in SAP Business One; support accurate GL postings.
  • Assist with credit application data compilation and contract file organization.
  • Utilize basic Microsoft Office tools for internal reporting; PowerPoint skills a plus.

What We’re Looking For
  • A positive, adaptable attitude with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic accounting knowledge (understanding of debits and credits required).
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to take ownership of daily processes.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate across departments.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field (preferred, not required).
  • 2–5 years of experience in accounting, accounts payable, or receivable roles.
  • Experience with SAP Business One (preferred, not required).
  • Prior exposure to manufacturing or multi-entity environments a plus.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary: $60,000- $70,000 annually (commensurate with experience).
  • Benefits include: Medical, Dental, Vision Insurance; 401(k) with company match (5%); 2 weeks paid vacation; additional standard holidays.
