Job Description

As an Accounting Manager, your key responsibilities will include:
  • Leading the preparation and review of fixed asset records, depreciation schedules, and account roll-forwards to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Evaluating monthly operating expense trends and annual budgets for assigned centers or departments, ensuring on-time completion with high accuracy. Clearly communicate variance explanations during monthly reviews with location managers, directors, and vice presidents, as directed by the group vice president.
  • Reviewing detailed account trends and variance reports prepared by Senior Accounting Analysts and Accountants, while gaining a thorough understanding of budget-to-actual variances.
  • Maintaining a comprehensive log of questions, responses, and action items from monthly operating expense reviews and discussions.
  • Providing feedback to Senior Accounting Analysts to ensure the accuracy of variance explanations, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial statements.
  • Acting as the main point of contact between finance and operations, addressing inquiries related to payroll, accounts payable, contracting, and revenue reimbursement in alignment with accounting policies and procedures.
  • Overseeing payroll processes, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and policies, and validating the accuracy of wages, deductions, benefits, and tax filings.
  • Resolving employee and manager payroll inquiries promptly and effectively to maintain satisfaction and compliance.

  • Problem-Solver: You’re adept at identifying issues and driving solutions before they impact employee satisfaction or financial reporting.
Qualifications We Value:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Previous experience in a similar role, including oversight of payroll processes, ideally in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced skills with accounting software (Microsoft Great Plains Dynamics preferred) and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Proven ability to lead teams while managing multiple priorities and large projects.
  • Familiarity with payroll systems, compliance standards, and regulations, including tax laws, wage and hour requirements, and benefits administration.
  • CPA certification is a plus but not required.
