Alliance Resource Group is exclusively partnered with a confidential, VC-backed AI & Defense software company on the search for a Controller.

This is an outstanding opportunity, but it may not be suitable for everyone. The company is growing fast, the work is complex, and expectations are high. If you thrive in early-stage environments, understand both SaaS and government contracting, and know how to build structure from the ground up, we want to hear from you.

About the Company
  • AI-driven software platform focused on public sector support

What You’ll Do
  • Own all core accounting functions (GL, close, compliance, internal controls)
  • Navigate complex revenue models (SaaS + government contract accounting)
  • Lead audits, support board reporting, and manage external relationships
  • Build scalable, efficient processes for a lean but growing finance org
  • Partner directly with the CFO and cross-functional teams (Ops, Legal, RevOps)

Ideal Background
  • CPA (or equivalent depth of accounting knowledge)
  • Experience in high-growth SaaS, AI, or defense-tech companies
  • Familiarity with government contracting frameworks (FAR/DFARS, cost-plus, T&M, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to scale accounting in fast-moving, resource-constrained settings
