Job Description


This is a senior-level Controller role for someone who wants to own the full accounting function and be a key part of a company that’s expanding internationally. You’ll be responsible for making sure the numbers are clean, accurate, and compliant while helping build the financial foundation for future growth.

You’ll report directly to the CFO and CEO and play a central role in shaping how the accounting and finance operation runs.

 

What you’ll be doing
  • Lead the preparation and analysis of monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP
  • Prepare consolidated financial statements for the company and its subsidiaries
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and reporting requirements, including international standards
  • Coordinate and manage the annual audit with external auditors
  • Oversee all accounting operations, including:
  • General ledger
  • Accounts payable and receivable
  • Fixed assets
  • Revenue recognition
  • Billing
  • Own the monthly close process and make sure everything is accurate and on time
  • Develop and implement accounting procedures and systems to support growth and efficiency
  • Partner closely with executive leadership to provide financial insights that support strategic decision-making
  • Evaluate and improve accounting processes to strengthen internal controls and ensure GAAP compliance
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team
  • Analyze financial results and provide clear, actionable recommendations
  • Support the development of international accounting operations as the company expands
  • Manage international tax planning and compliance, including transfer pricing and VAT
  • Help manage foreign currency exposure and exchange rate risk
  • Identify and mitigate financial, operational, and compliance risks
  • Ensure proper safeguarding of company assets
  • Build and maintain strong internal controls to protect financial data

 

What they’re looking for
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Active CPA required
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
  • Prior experience in fuel or gas distribution strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal controls
  • Solid understanding of fuel accounting principles and systems
  • NetSuite experience strongly preferred
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Proven ability to lead teams and manage change in a growing organization
