Corporate Controller - Interim

Job Description

Client is seeking a highly effective Controller to oversee all accounting and financials of two divisions


Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting & General Ledger: Oversee the entire accounting cycle, including the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets. Manage the timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes and issue GAAP-compliant financial statements for management and investor reporting.
  • PE Reporting & Analysis: Prepare comprehensive financial reporting packages and KPI dashboards for the executive team, board, and private equity partners. Provide in-depth variance analyses and insights to explain financial performance and identify operational opportunities to drive EBITDA growth and margin improvement.
  • Treasury: Optimizing working capital and responsible for managing cash needs; provide cash flow forecast
  • Internal Controls & Compliance: Develop, implement, and monitor a robust system of internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements. Coordinate and serve as the primary point of contact for the annual financial audits and tax preparation with external auditors and advisors.
  • Process Improvement & Systems: Drive operational efficiency by evaluating and streamlining accounting workflows and processes across both divisions. Support the optimization and integration of accounting and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP) to provide real-time data visibility and support scalability.
  • Divisional Oversight & Business Partnering: Act as a strategic business partner to the operational leaders of both divisions, providing financial guidance and ensuring financial accountability. Support M&A activities, including due diligence and the integration of newly acquired companies.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability, accuracy, and professional growth.


Qualifications & Experience
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required. A CPA designation is strongly preferred.
  • Experience:
    • 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, with at least 3 years in a Controller or similar leadership role.
    • Proven experience within a private equity-backed or high-growth environment is a plus, with an understanding of fast-paced, results-oriented cultures.
    • Experience managing accounting operations across multiple entities or locations is a plus.
    • Strong technical accounting foundation (GAAP) and experience coordinating external audits.
    • Familiarity with a subscription based or recurring revenue business; understanding intricacies of revenue recognition
  • Skills:
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
    • Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Intacct) with advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
    • Hands-on leadership style with a desire to build and standardize processes in a dynamic environment; experience in managing remote staff is a plus
