COMPANY PROFILE & HISTORY
Our client designs and deploys advanced residential energy?storage solutions that help homeowners stay powered and support a more reliable electric grid. Following a recent growth?capital raise from top?tier investors, the company is entering a national scale?up phase with strategic partnerships that accelerate installations across multiple states.

POSITION SUMMARY & REQUIREMENTS
Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Revenue Accounting Manager is the first dedicated hire to own ASC?606 revenue recognition and to build the invoice?to?cash engine from the ground up. This hands?on individual contributor will design scalable revenue processes, solve problems independently, and present finished solutions with minimal oversight while transaction volumes expand to thousands of customers per year.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Revenue Responsibilities
  • Lead ASC?606 contract assessment and revenue?policy documentation.
  • Post revenue entries; reconcile contract assets and deferred revenue.
  • Architect automated billing and collections workflows in the company’s ERP.
  • Build scalable invoice?to?cash processes from quote to collection.
  • Produce monthly revenue dashboards and KPI commentary.
  • Manage customer invoicing—system?generated or manual as needed.
  • Maintain customer master data integrity.
  • Apply cash receipts daily; resolve unapplied payments swiftly.
  • Track aging schedules; execute targeted collections outreach.
  • Recommend bad?debt reserves and escalate major delinquencies.

Reporting & Process Improvements
  • Reconcile AR, unbilled receivables, and deferred revenue every close.
  • Deliver variance and forecast reports to Finance and GTM leadership.
  • Shorten the close cycle through automation and workflow redesign.
  • Document end?to?end revenue and AR processes for audit?ready control maturity.
  • Coordinate audit PBCs; address inquiries on revenue and receivables.
  • Build self?serve dashboards for DSO, cash conversion, and contract?asset turns.
  • Evaluate and implement system enhancements to boost accuracy and speed.
  • Train cross?functional teams on contract and billing policies.
  • Monitor compliance with internal controls; remediate gaps proactively.
  • Lead special projects (new product monetization, pricing model updates, etc.).

EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
  • 4+ years progressive US?GAAP experience, including ASC?606 revenue recognition; public?+?private mix ideal.
  • Proven ability to design or enhance ERP revenue modules (mid?market or open?source platforms).
  • Startup mindset: willing to tackle both strategic projects and day?to?day tasks (“no job too small”).
  • High?volume subscription or marketplace background a plus.
  • Strong communication skills with the presence to influence cross?functional stakeholders.
