Job Description


Alliance Resource Group is partnered with a privately held, high-growth national insurance brokerage in the search for an Accounts Payable Manager. This is a fully remote seat on the corporate accounting team, reporting to the Senior Manager of Corporate Accounting and working closely with the Corporate Controller, Treasury, IT, and an offshore accounting group.

The AP function supports a multi-entity organization processing roughly 1,000 to 1,200 invoices per month. Day to day invoice entry and inbox coverage sit with a dedicated offshore team; this role is the first-level reviewer, approver, and owner of the function. The department is actively being rebuilt, so policy, documentation, KPI reporting, and workflow automation are all in progress. This is build work rather than maintenance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee full-cycle accounts payable including invoice processing, coding, approval workflow, vendor maintenance, and reconciliations
  • Review and approve weekly payment runs across ACH, wire, and check
  • Direct and develop the offshore AP team, setting priorities, reviewing work, and maintaining a consistent meeting cadence
  • Reconcile corporate credit cards and coordinate with Treasury on funding the AP payment account
  • Own W-9 maintenance and annual 1099 filings
  • Build and document AP policy, workflows, and standard operating procedures
  • Develop AP KPIs and reporting to track department performance and weekly cash requirements
  • Partner with IT on shared service cost allocations across entities

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • 8+ years of progressive accounts payable experience with full-cycle ownership
  • Multi-entity, high-volume AP experience, ideally in a high-growth environment
  • Proven experience supervising AP staff, including remote or offshore teams
  • Recent experience working in a fully remote role
  • Track record of process improvement and hands-on problem solving
  • Comfort operating without a fully integrated ERP, pulling from multiple disconnected systems
  • Intermediate Excel with strong analytical skills
