Senior Internal Auditor

Job Description


Our client is a large, well-respected financial services company that has had several decades of growth and success in its history.  We have partnered with them to find a Senior Internal Auditor who will focus on SOX compliance, risk assessment and operational audits.

Responsibilities:
  • The audit team assesses risk throughout the organization, identifies controls to mitigate risks, tests controls to determine whether they are functioning as management intended, and provides recommendations to correct findings.
  • Support outside consulting firm with internal control testing for SOX
  • Develop concise and well-written audit reports to be provided to senior management.
  • Prepare a variety of management reports to be presented to executive management as well as the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors.
  • Assist in the development of the annual audit plan
  • Schedules, plans, and manage audits
  • Reviews workpapers and audit reports
  • Interacts with senior management, the external audit firm, and industry examiners
  • Hires, trains, and guides staff
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of public accounting experience with publicly traded clients
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field of study
  • Certified Public Accountant and/or Certified Internal Auditor or relevant job experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of internal controls
  • Ability to stay organized
  • Possess excellent communication skills
