Job Description
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform a wide variety of accounting and financial analyses
- Prepare journal entries and maintain the general ledger
- Reconcile monthly bank statements to the general ledger
- Record and process accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Process cash receipts and prepare bank deposits
- Monitor Inventory transactions and maintain an accurate real-time balance from a subsidiary schedule to the G/L
- Monitor daily cash balances
- Manage various month end close processes
- Calculating and processing of Sales Taxes to multiple cities and districts
- Assist with preparation of annual operating budgets
- Assist management with special projects and other tasks as assigned
- Assist with the Fiscal Year Audit
- Maintains open communication with accounting team, operations team, landlords, service providers, vendors and associates at all levels and departments throughout the organization
- Has a productive, collaborative, and self-motivated approach to work duties
- Seeks to improve the department by setting, following and improving on best practices
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced professional small office environment
Education and Experience:
- Potential candidates should have a bachelor's degree in related field and at least two years of general accounting experience
- Excellent organization, communication, and time management skills required
- Knowledge and understanding of GAAP accounting standards
- Candidates must be proficient in Mac Microsoft Word and Numbers or Excel
- Knowledge/Experience in Quickbooks is not required, but preferred
