Our client is a growing Consumer Products company and due to growth, have created this new position! The Controller wants someone with a solid understanding of the entire P&L and own the balance sheet reconciliation. Position Summary: an individual that is highly detail oriented, has the ability to meet a constant stream of deadlines. This individual needs to have proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees, must have superior analytic and problem solving skills. Must be familiar with various Accounting Software and Programs.
Analyze and reconcile Profit and Loss as well as Balance Sheet accounts by reviewing General Ledger detail
Prepare Journal Entries
Support Month-end and Year-end Process – General Ledger, Accounts Payable and Payroll
Assists in preparing Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss analytics for outside accountants
Knowledge and experience preparing and filing personal property taxes
Leadership skills: provide coaching, skills development, guidance and support to staff
Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills
Position Qualifications/Core Competencies
Must have 7 plus years’ experience and/or education that demonstrates a commanding knowledge of corporate accounting
BA/BS Degree required
Must have expert knowledge of and experience in Microsoft Office Suite (Work, Excel and Outlook)
Must have knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, general ledgers, journal entries and financial statement review
A working knowledge of MAS 90 and ADP
Must display strong analytic and organizational skills and have the ability to identify and implement process improvement strategies with positive business results
Must have strong work ethics and a high level of confidentiality to ensure proper handling of sensitive information
