Job Description

Alliance Resource Group has exclusively partnered with a family office that owns and operates several asset classes of real estate, as well as underwrites and invests in real estate. Additionally, the company is responsible for managing trusts, investment portfolios, and charitable endeavors.

Our client is looking to hire an accounting manager who will be responsible for all financial reporting and will work intimately with the President/Founder.

Finance, Tax and Accounting
  • Generate financial statements and pro forma models for accuracy and validity.
  • Work with CPAs to provide accurate and timely information for cost-effective tax filing and annual reviews.
  • Review bookkeeping to ensure proper recording of income, expenses, and capitalized items for management reporting and tax preparation.
  • Prepare clear and understandable financial reports and cash flow projections.
  • Prepare annual budgets and cash flows for combined and individual Foxdale Properties, its subsidiaries, and the various family trusts and obtain approval on a timely basis.
Real Estate
  • Comprehend leases and lease terminology.
  • Effective oversight of equity investments in real estate partnerships, including multifamily projects and retail centers.
  • Perform annual internal audit of property management’s charges and fees.
Cash Management & Banking
  • Monitor bank lines of credit to ensure use at least annually.
  • Prepare clear and understandable cash flow projections and monitor progress.
  • Look for ways to use cash effectively to reduce overall borrowing costs.
Legal
  • Have a good understanding of all legal documents and agreements.
  • Have a good understanding of office legal files regarding location (Dropbox and office) and ability to find them.
  • Consult outside legal counsel in the following categories: income tax and property tax, corporate, and loan review.
Stocks, Bonds, Investment Portfolio
  • Evaluate quarterly reports on investment results.
  • Benchmark investment advisors’ performance.
  • Ensure investment portfolios follow their investment policy.
Information Technology
  • Maintain good working knowledge of office equipment.
  • Competent in MS Office, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat Reader, QuickBooks, AppFolio, and other office related software.
  • Ensure well maintained and organized corporate storage and Dropbox.
  • Stay updated on IT & cybersecurity as it relates to the company.
Insurance
  • Possess a general understanding of the multiple layers of company insurance
Charitable and Non-Profit Management
  • Review and monitor record keeping for charitable contributions and annual donation budgets.
  • Monitor balances, activities and returns of California Community Foundation (CCF) Donor Advised Fund.
  • Assure accurate record keeping for tax accounting of charitable giving.
  • Review donation schedule and track against budget.
  • Assures all organizations which receive donations are legitimate (501c3 non-profit) and financially sound.
  • Review written donation commitment agreements to ensure they are accurately documented.
Irrevocable Investment Trust
  • Ensure bookkeeping, management reporting and financial statements are prepared accurately and provided to Trustee and trust members on a timely basis.
  • Work and communicate effectively with the Trustee and Successor Trustee.
  • Facilitate and support trust committee chairs.
  • Provide help when called upon by trust beneficiaries.
Job Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or equivalent
  • 5 + years of accounting experience
  • CPA Licensure preferred
