Job Description
Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join our midsize healthcare company. As the Assistant Controller, you will work closely with the Controller and senior management team to oversee the financial operations of the organization. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, assisting with budgeting and forecasting, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and a deep understanding of healthcare financial processes.
Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze accurate financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Ensure timely and accurate reporting to management, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.

General Ledger Management: Oversee the maintenance of the general ledger, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close processes. Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records.

Internal Controls: Develop and implement financial controls and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with applicable regulations. Monitor compliance with internal policies and external reporting requirements.

Audit Support: Assist in coordinating and managing external audits, including providing requested documentation, addressing audit inquiries, and ensuring timely completion of audit deliverables. Collaborate with auditors to address findings and implement recommendations.

Compliance and Regulations: Stay abreast of healthcare industry regulations, accounting standards, and best practices. Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and reporting requirements, such as HIPAA and GAAP.

Team Collaboration: Work closely with the finance and accounting team to provide guidance, support, and training as needed. Foster a collaborative work environment, promote cross-functional teamwork, and contribute to a positive company culture.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. CPA designation is preferred.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in accounting or finance roles, preferably in the healthcare industry.
- In-depth knowledge of healthcare financial operations, revenue cycle management, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis, and internal controls.
- Proficiency in financial reporting systems and software (e.g., ERP systems, Excel, financial modeling tools).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior management.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and evolving healthcare environment.
