Job Title: Financial Analyst
Job Type: Contract (December- June, 2024) - Onsite in Irvine, 3 Days a Week

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Analyst to join our team. In this contract position, you will be working with a dynamic group of professionals on a project that requires onsite presence in Irvine for three days a week. The project involves a wide range of financial analysis and management tasks, offering you the opportunity to contribute your expertise and make a significant impact.
Responsibilities:
As a Financial Analyst, your key responsibilities will include:

Strategic Financial Analysis: Developing and delivering moderate to complex financial analysis to support business operations and decisions. This will involve analyzing financial and business information at a business unit or functional level, drawing conclusions, and providing recommendations for determining courses of action.

Budgeting and Forecasting: You will be responsible for developing, delivering, and assessing the fiscal year plan and forecasts for a business unit or function, as well as multi-year financial projects. You will also support the annual budgeting process with analysis, reporting, and financial modeling.

Financial Modeling: Developing and delivering moderate to complex financial models, business management reports, and key financial metrics. This will include recurring financial analysis and finding ways to improve value and efficiency in existing financial models and reporting.

Collaboration: You should work well in a collaborative environment and be flexible in navigating ambiguity. The ability to work through others to prepare analyses and seek feedback for necessary adjustments is vital.
Ad-Hoc Financial Analysis Skills:
In addition to your primary responsibilities, we are seeking someone with the following skills:
- The ability to critically analyze situations and solve problems effectively.
- Strong organizational skills and a proven track record of successfully handling multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
- Demonstrated analytical skills in areas of high complexity and ambiguity.
- Experience in analyzing complex financial reports.
- General knowledge of investment vehicles or experience in the investment management industry (preferred).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively partner with the finance team.
Qualifications:
To be a suitable candidate for this role, you should meet the following qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in management consulting, corporate finance, or a similar function.
- A bachelor's degree in Economics, Business Administration, Finance, or another quantitative field.
- An MBA/CFA is preferred but not required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to create presentations.
- Familiarity with digital tools (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau), advanced Microsoft Excel skills for complex financial modeling, and experience with an enterprise accounting system (such as SAP) and related data queries.
- Exceptional analytical skills and the ability to understand the impact of operations on financial results.
