Job Description

Our client in Irvine, CA is an established Contractor that focuses on development projects and service agreements for multiple industries. We are partnering with the President to identify a solid Human Resources Generalist who has experience in generalist HR functions, risk management, training, recruiting, compliance and payroll (backup).
This position is critical to continue to further enable the company to meet its operational and strategic targets. The company offers excellent resources for HR and legal support and will
General/Strategic HR:
  • Partnering with company executives to develop and implement business and organizational strategies and plans
  • Becoming a member of the leadership team responsible for creating and driving an effective people strategy, organization model, talent development strategy, and engaged culture
  • Providing ongoing support to line executives by serving as a "sounding board" in both a business and people related capacity
  • Utilizing high level consulting skills to coach and provide feedback on leadership direction and style
  • Responsible for managing the department budget
  • Implementing and utilization of computerized information systems used in human resources applications
  • Developing the appropriate HR organizational model for the business

Talent Acquisition:
  • Developing an effective employee value proposition; ensuring the use of best practice approaches and tools to attract the right talent for the organization
  • Creating a “best in class” onboarding and orientation process
  • Ensuring managers are counseled with respect to candidate selection and proper interviewing procedures

Employee Relations, Legal, Training and Retention:
  • Ensuring that line leaders are effectively and proactively managing staff performance, facilitating appropriate response to serious performance issues
  • Analyzing and assessing training and development needs of individuals, departments, and the company as a whole
  • Oversees the performance management process; provides supervisory and employee counseling focused on timely issue resolution
  • Playing a leading role in resolving employment legal disputes
  • Serve as “subject matter expert” of federal, state, and local employment, wage and salary laws and regulations. Interpret and advise on the application of EEO/AA laws.
  • Conducts employee opinion surveys and leverages employee data to improve employee satisfaction, performance, and retention
  • Overseeing the process for managing staff changes at all levels

Compensation and Benefits:
  • Designing, developing, and implementing salary administration plans and benefit programs
  • Ensuring that compensation policies are in place to attract and retain key talent
  • Structuring and monitoring people related metrics and management information
  • Overseeing the negotiation, implementation and administration of benefit programs and various employment-related insurance policies

Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree required strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive business/human resources generalist experience including recruitment, organizational development/change management, compensation, employment law, and employee relations
  • Payroll processing for 100+ employees (Paylocity a plus)
  • Experience working in, construction, manufacturing or distribution industries is highly desirable
  • Strong business acumen and understands the key financial drivers and dynamics related to growth and revenue goals of an organization
  • Demonstrated high level of personal creditability
