Job Description: Senior Investment Associate 
Location: Los Angeles

Role Description:
As a Senior Associate, you will play a crucial role in supporting our investment strategies. This role will require someone who is hardworking and industrious. This is an exciting opportunity to partner with senior professionals to analyze financial data, research investment opportunities and contribute to the development and execution of investment strategies. You will be trusted to act independently, as well as collaborate with the full Symbiotic team. Your efforts will directly impact the growth and success of our firm.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Investment Analysis: Conduct thorough research and analysis of investment opportunities. Will participate in full life cycle of investment opportunities, including screening, analysis, loan execution and portfolio management.
  • Financial Modeling: Develop and maintain financial models to project investment outcomes and analyze potential scenarios. Utilize quantitative and qualitative data to support decision making.
  • Due Diligence: Conduct due diligence on prospective investment opportunities. Evaluate prospective borrower performance, and adhere to Symbiotic investment process.
  • Preparing Investment Collateral: Responsible for drafting detailed investment memos and other collateral, as well as concise communication for internal matters.
  • Market Research: Stay informed about market trends, industry developments, and emerging investment opportunities. Provide insights and recommendations based on research findings.
  • Reporting: Prepare internal investment reports, performance summaries and presentations for internal stakeholders.
  • Fund Raising: When applicable, support fundraising efforts via materials preparation and providing timely and accurate information
  • Business Development: Support business development efforts by selectively participating in presentations and marketing initiatives.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering or a related field preferred, but not required).
3-6 years of professional work experience.
Understanding of financial markets, investment principles and financial modeling. Excellent analytical, quantitative and technical skills with attention to detail and accuracy. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ethical approach to handling sensitive financial information.
