Job Summary:
The Controller position entails comprehensive oversight of all accounting functions within the organization. Serving as a strategic partner, the Controller will offer specialized accounting expertise to support business and finance teams. Responsibilities include directing accounting operations, spearheading the implementation of a new ERP system, and managing overseas reporting in this rapidly expanding company. The ideal candidate will possess previous experience in managing accounting functions for a significant retail enterprise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings, account reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and compliance with reporting requirements.
- Manage external audit processes and financial statement audits, ensuring accuracy in tax and financial reports.
- Drive ERP system implementation and review journal entries.
- Lead the accounting team, refine operational procedures, and provide technical guidance to team members.
- Collaborate with the finance division and other business units.
- Oversee both the accounting team and external accounting firms.
- Prepare special initiatives and analyses as needed.
- Review current processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of accounting experience.
- Minimum 5 years of Controller experience in a sizable retail company, preferably with Big 4 public accounting firm background.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting (MBA preferred).
- CPA certification preferred.
- Strong collaboration skills with diverse, cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently and exhibit self-starting qualities.
- Must be able to report to HQ in Anaheim, CA.
