Job Description
This controller role will be strategic and pivotal to growing the organization. This controller will be partnering directly with a dynamic and energetic CEO.
The Controller is a key member of the management team and will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of accounting, regulatory compliance, internal controls, and internal reporting within the organization. This role requires a self-motivated individual with a strong financial acumen, a keen eye for detail, exceptional organizational skills and outstanding leadership skills that will continue to elevate our best-in-class team.
SUMMARY:
- Responsible for timely, accurate, and efficient accounting close on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis
- Develop, maintain, and enhance accounting and finance policies, processes, and procedures to company with US GAAP
- Responsible for treasury function and payroll for company personnel
- Develop budgets, forecasts, and flux analysis to support decision making of senior management
- Assist the executive team in the evaluation of broader enterprise initiatives, including M&A and integration activities
- Manage overall company budget and cash flow
- Ensure accurate cost of goods sold and inventory costing in collaboration with the inventory team
- Ensure and oversee physical inventory and adjustments
- Establish, improve, and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Work closely with key business leaders to manage the accounting processes and apprise senior management of opportunities and risks
- Participate in key strategic initiatives to help identify revenue enhancement and cost reduction opportunities
- Recommends and monitors benchmarks used to measure the company’s performance
- Provides insights into variances between budgets/forecasts and financial reports
- Work alongside upper management to implement new ERP systems to improve accounting and payroll reporting
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required
- Min. of 8 to 10 yrs. of progressive experience
- Consumer goods experience required, clothing industry experience preferred
- Strong understanding of GAAP
- HR knowledge/experience a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
