ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Overall responsibility for and oversight of the following for Cleveland & Alliance locations:
    • Monthly financial closing process
    • Accuracy and timely preparation of the division financial statements – Internal management reporting
    • External government, industry association, census, other reporting
    • Establish and maintain a reliable system of internal controls over financial reporting and disclosure at the division level (in direct support of the Company’ s SOX compliance requirements) • Safeguarding of division assets
    • Annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting - including analysis of actual results vs. plan and forecast (in coordination with the division’ s operating management team)
    • Coordination of quarterly and annual external audit for the division
    • Accuracy and timely submission of financial information to corporate accounting for:
        1. Consolidation and external reporting
        2. P&C Insurance policy renewal and premium audit purposes
        3. Tax provision and tax return support
        4. Other as requested
  • Participate in division strategic planning process
  • Capital Expenditure analyses
  • Perform an appropriate level of review of journal entries / account analyses prepared by personnel reporting to the division controller
  • Perform financial analysis of division’ s financial position and results of operations with an appropriate level of interaction with commercial and operational personnel within the division to effectively accomplish this task. Provide expertise and assistance with objective of improving overall division performance? Provide supervision over:
      • Cost Accounting – including (i) maintenance of a reliable (for management purposes), accurate and up-to-date standard cost accounting system, (ii) timely analysis of variances from standard, (iii) ensure accurate physical and perpetual inventory records (reconciled timely with G/L control accounts), etc.
      • General Accounting – including General Ledger, A/R, A/P, and Fixed Assets.
      • Rockstar Leader with an abundance of coaching experience to promote and create a high performing accounting team

 
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’ s degree in Finance or Accounting and 7 years of experience in the Accounting field, 3 of which should be in a Supervisory capacity; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees and vendors.
  • Ability to apply fundamental accounting principles.
  • Ability to reconcile general ledger accounts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Access and integrated accounting software.
  • Experience utilizing and leveraging Financial and Controlling ERP modules (SAP preferred)
  • Experience in Public Company environment strongly preferred
  • Experience in a Standard Cost environment
  • Experience in in Manufacturing Industry preferred
  • Experience in Aerospace preferred
  • Experience streamlining accounting functions/work flow
  • Experience in Cost Accounting a plus
  • Experience managing LIFO inventory valuation preferred
