Job Description
Alliance Resource Group has been retained by a long-standing real estate operator & developer to identify their next Controller/VP of Finance. The Controller/VP of Finance will work closely with outsourced property managers, accountants, brokers, and lenders to oversee the financial health and future of the firm. This position will report directly to the founders/principals.
Responsibilities:
Accounting, Forecasting & Financial Reporting:
- Review property-level financial statements prepared by outsourced property accounting team and prepare summary-level consolidation
- Guide iterative annual budgeting process in tandem with outsourced property accounting firm
- Maintain in-house corporate accounting procedures – ensure that prepaids, AP/AR, payroll, etc. are being documented and reconciled properly
- Create quarterly financial statements and other schedules for lender reporting, loan inquiries, and external CPA (tax compliance)
- Prepare 5-year and 10-year forecasts of revenue & cash flows by utilizing ARGUS and Excel-based models
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages to shareholders
- Manage creation of robust KPIs and dashboard analytics
Real Estate & Administrative:
- Assist with acquisition/disposition decisions related to property portfolio
- Support property-level & organizational risk management, including analysis/review of property insurance agreements
- Evaluate ongoing needs for CapEx improvements
- Serve as key liaison with property management, legal teams, brokers, lenders, and other accounting/tax professionals
- Oversee ad hoc projects, reporting, and initiatives
Requirements & Experience Needed:

- 10+ years of experience in Accounting & Finance, with 5+ years focused in commercial real estate
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Real Estate Finance
- Experience in public accounting, real estate taxation, property accounting, and/or real estate transaction advisory would be well suited for the role
