Job Description


Alliance Resource Group is partnered with a growing engineering/design & manufacturing client in San Diego who is focused on low power wireless telecommunications. The client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Corporate Controller. The Corporate Controller will play a crucial role in overseeing all financial operations, reporting, and compliance within the organization. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in finance, accounting, and manufacturing operations, with the ability to provide strategic insights to drive the company's financial success.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Reporting and Analysis:
    • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
    • Analyze financial data to provide insights and recommendations for business decision-making.
    • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide regular reporting to executive management.

  2. Budgeting and Forecasting:
    • Collaborate with department heads to develop and manage annual budgets.
    • Create accurate financial forecasts to guide short-term and long-term strategic planning.

  3. Internal Controls and Compliance:
    • Establish and maintain robust internal control procedures to ensure accurate financial reporting and safeguarding of assets.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and industry-specific requirements.

  4. Manufacturing Cost Analysis:
    • Work closely with operations teams to analyze manufacturing costs, variances, and efficiency metrics.
    • Identify opportunities for cost reduction, process improvements, and operational efficiencies.

  5. Cash Management and Treasury:
    • Manage company cash flows and optimize liquidity management.
    • Oversee banking relationships, credit facilities, and investment strategies.

  6. Audit and Taxation:
    • Coordinate annual external audits and ensure timely completion of audit processes.
    • Collaborate with external tax advisors to ensure compliance with tax filings and reporting.

  7. Team Leadership and Development:
    • Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
    • Provide guidance on professional development and training opportunities for team members.

  8. Strategic Financial Planning:
    • Collaborate with senior management to develop and execute financial strategies aligned with the company's growth objectives.
    • Participate in mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives from a financial perspective.

  9. ERP System Management:
    • Oversee the implementation and utilization of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems for financial management and reporting.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA or CMA designation preferred.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, cost accounting, and inventory management.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and data analysis.
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, and standards (GAAP/IFRS).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and levels of the organization.
  • Detail-oriented, analytical thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
