Alliance Resource Group is partnered with an Advanced Manufacturing Company in their search for a Cost Accounting Manager.
This is a highly visible role supporting complex hardware production, manufacturing operations, inventory, WIP, standard costing, and cost controls across a rapidly scaling environment.
This is a strong fit for someone who has built deep cost accounting experience in manufacturing and wants to step into a high-impact role at a company operating at the intersection of manufacturing, technology, autonomy, AI-enabled systems, and advanced hardware.
What You’ll Do
As a Cost Accounting Manager,you will help lead cost accounting for a complex manufacturing environment and partner closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, and external auditors.
Key responsibilities include:
• Lead and support cost accounting close activities, including cost roll-ups, variance analysis, absorption reporting, inventory reconciliations, and WIP analysis.
• Manage and improve standard costing processes across complex hardware / manufacturing operations.
• Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, and Engineering to analyze manufacturing performance, production cost drivers, and margin trends.
• Support inventory controls, physical inventory, cycle counts, and inventory valuation.
• Help design, improve, and maintain internal controls around cost accounting, inventory, and manufacturing finance processes.
• Support external audit requests related to inventory, costing, and production accounting.
• Contribute to scalable processes, systems, and controls as the company continues to grow.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and technical guidance to cost accounting team members.
Ideal Background
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5–7+ years of progressive cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong experience with standard costing, inventory accounting, WIP, cost roll-ups, variance analysis, and manufacturing close.
• Background in aerospace, defense, space, advanced manufacturing, complex hardware, semiconductor, industrial technology, or similar environments is highly relevant.
• Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, NetSuite, or similar.
• CPA or CMA preferred, but not required.
• Exposure to U.S. government contracting, FAR/CAS, or defense-related cost accounting is a strong plus.
• Strong analytical, communication, and cross-functional partnership skills.
