Job Description

Alliance Resource Group is partnered with an established leader in the storage and warehouse industry. The company has nationwide operations and is looking to identify a Director of Finance based in Downey, CA. This role is responsible for overseeing accounting and financial controls for the entire organization, leading the accounting team, and ensuring adherence to all company, regulatory, and industry financial standards. The Director of Finance reports directly to the COO.

Key Responsibilities:

Direct all activities of the finance and accounting department, ensuring efficient and accurate execution of core financial functions.
Maintain compliance with GAAP, federal and state regulations, and industry best practices.
Manage and supervise Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, tax filings, and audit processes for multiple affiliated entities.
Develop and update accounting policies, internal controls, and procedures to maintain financial integrity.
Prepare, review, and present financial statements, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
Lead and mentor finance staff
Establish and monitor KPI's to drive departmental and company-wide efficiency.
Serve as the main liaison to external financial partners (CPA firms, banks, insurance providers, and tax consultants) for audits, reviews, compliance filings, and insurance audits.
Manage all aspects of financial planning, analysis, and reporting, including strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
Guide the accounting team through month-end and year-end closing, ensuring deadlines are met and data is accurate.
Prepare GAAP-compliant financial statements and conduct thorough variance and financial performance analyses.
Oversee sales tax compliance and filings across multiple states, including reconciliations between tax software and internal systems.
Perform monthly and quarterly reconciliations for all key balance sheet accounts (cash, receivables, payables, deposits, fixed assets, etc.).
Manage and track fixed assets, capital projects, and vehicle leases and purchases.
Generate a wide range of ad hoc reports and financial analyses as required to support business decisions.
Collaborate closely with operations leadership to identify process gaps and provide data-driven solutions.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA or MBA preferred.
In-depth understanding of GAAP, financial controls, and regulatory compliance.
Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience managing finance/accounting teams.
Strong analytical skills and proficiency in financial analysis, reporting, and planning.
Advanced user of accounting software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Superior communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities; strong attention to detail.

Compensation & Benefits:

Full-time, on-site position in Downey, CA
Base salary range: $160,000 - $175,000 per year
