Job Title: Director of Reporting and Consolidations

Location: Irvine, CA

Duration: 2-3 months (On-site, 5 days a week)

About the Company: Our client, a publicly traded company based in Irvine, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Reporting and Consolidations to join their team on a project basis. This role is pivotal in ensuring accurate and compliant financial reporting and consolidations, particularly in adherence to SEC regulations and SOX requirements.

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the financial reporting and consolidations process, ensuring compliance with SEC reporting requirements.
  • Manage a team of 8 professionals, providing leadership, guidance, and support to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Coordinate and review the preparation of financial statements, footnotes, and disclosures for SEC filings (10-Q, 10-K, etc.).
  • Ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements, implementing and maintaining effective internal controls.
  • Handle complex consolidation processes, including intercompany eliminations and foreign currency translation adjustments.
  • Utilize Workiva for reporting and compliance management.
  • Conduct reconciliations using Backline, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
  • Collaborate with international subsidiaries to ensure consistent and compliant reporting across all regions.
  • Stay current with changes in SEC regulations, US GAAP, and IFRS, ensuring the company's compliance and reporting standards are up-to-date.
  • Provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior management based on financial analysis and reporting.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in financial reporting and consolidations, with a strong emphasis on SEC reporting and SOX compliance.
  • Proven experience in managing and leading teams, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong international experience, with an understanding of global accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in Workiva for reporting and compliance management.
  • Experience with Backline for reconciliations.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work on-site in Irvine, CA, 5 days a week for the duration of the project (2-3 months).
