Job Description

Job Title: Interim Senior Accountant - General Ledger

Location: Irvine, CA (On-site, 5 days a week)

Duration: 3+ months

Company: ARG, supporting a large publicly traded company

Summary: The Senior Accountant - General Ledger is responsible for overseeing the month-end close process, ensuring the accuracy of journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting the preparation of consolidated financial statements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of all assigned journal entries, account reconciliations, and analyses under the direction of the Accounting Manager.
  • Lead projects as necessary, ensuring thorough preparation and documentation of related journal entries.
  • Verify accuracy of foreign currency adjustments, elimination entries, and expense allocations during month-end closing.
  • Develop and implement new procedures to streamline the current closing process.
  • Contribute to the development of global accounting policies to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Actively participate in year-end audits and quarterly reviews, including preparing audit support schedules and fulfilling related requests.
  • Adhere to established policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with SOX 404 standards.
  • Support internal and external reporting processes, such as Month Financial Package, Form 10-K, and Form 10-Q’s.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
  • 6-9 years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Computer Skills:
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics D365 preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification preferred.
