REMOTE Interim Tax Director - 3 months+ project!
Our client is a dynamic, fast-paced publicly-traded tech company that is in need of a Tax Director for the next three months. Due to an unexpected departure, our client is looking for a talented Director or Manager of Tax to assist with managing the third party tax advisors, preparing the company for year-end and assisting with the tax duties and responsibilities over the next three to four months.
For the right person, this could be a "temp to hire" situation.
This Interim Tax Director will serve as the resident expert and “go-to” person in the company for tax-related matters. The ideal candidate will be excited to take a hands-on approach to the role and work in a fast-paced, collaborative work environment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for oversight and support of monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns and month-end close process
- Serve as the primary point of contact with third party tax advisors and manage all external tax requests
- Keep up to date with new pronouncements and ongoing trends that will affect tax planning activities for the company
- Ensure tax liabilities, reports, and files are accurate and tax payments are filed in a timely manner
- Provide routine communication to management on all tax matters for the firm
- Design and implement controls to ensure the Company's tax liabilities and financial statements are accurate and in compliance with local and state laws as well as GAAP
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- Prior Public accounting tax experience required (Big 4 preferred)
- 7+ years of total experience required
- Experience with partnership taxation
- Strong understanding of federal and multi-state corporate income taxation
