Our client is a large, well-respected financial services company that has several decades of growth and success in its history. We have partnered with them to find a Manager, External Reporting that can be ready to move into the Vice President position within three-five years.

This position manages the External Financial Reporting and Fixed Assets Accounting teams within the organization’s Corporate Accounting department. Given the diverse array of products and services, employees are continually challenged to learn and grow and are provided with a variety of opportunities for career advancement. The person selected for this role will be expected to be a future leader for the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the preparation of annual consolidated financial statements, annual employee benefit plan financial statements, and note disclosuresÂ
- Coordinate with external auditors to ensure timely audit completion for five reports in total
- Work cross-functionally with Investments, Tax, Payroll, Benefits, and Legal to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the annual financial statements
- Research, document, and implement new US GAAP and Statutory basis accounting pronouncements and disclosure requirements
- Prepare and present analysis of new accounting pronouncements to Executive Management
- Work with Executive Management on significant initiatives and provide input and analysis to ensure financial statement impacts are properly evaluated
- Oversee the Fixed Assets Accounting team that is responsible for the proper recording of all fixed asset additions, disposals, and transfers
Qualifications:
- BS degree in Accounting or equivalent degree
- CPA license
- At least five years of financial statement preparation and/or audit experience, preferably with a large public accounting firm
- At least three years of supervisory and/or managerial experience
- Prior experience with Hyperion Financial Management and/or Oracle Cloud is a plus, but not required
- Fixed asset and/or general ledger accounting experience is a plus, but not required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently, as part of a team, cross-functionally, and with Executive Management
