Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Verify, allocate, post and reconcile accounts payable and receivable
Produce timely, error-free accounting reports and present their results
Analyze financial information and summarize financial status
Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending
Provide technical support and advice
Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
Participate in financial standards setting
Provide input into department’ s goal setting process
Prepare timely financial statements in accordance with schedule
Assist with tax audits and tax returns
Coordinate and complete internal and external audits according to schedule
Responsible of month-end and year-end close process
Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
Produces payroll by initiating computer processing; printing checks/payments stubs, verifying finished product.
Responsible for processing payroll and related items as assigned by supervisor.
Responsible for confidentially maintaining payroll and personnel records.
Responsible for complying with all related statutory requirements.
Proven experience as a senior accountant or Office Manager
Familiarity with operations in health care office similar to doctor, behavior health, medical service is a plus
Experience with medial billing and interaction with Insurance companies for payment is a plus
Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures
In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Awareness of business trends
Familiarity with financial accounting statements
Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, like QuickBooks
Advanced MS Excel skills including lookups and pivot tables
Accuracy and attention to detail
Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
BS degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant
Team Player and excellent communicator
