ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Alliance Resource Group has partnered with an established, family-owned construction company experiencing significant growth and transformation. As they modernize and expand their payroll operations, they're seeking an experienced payroll professional with expertise in union and certified payroll compliance to lead their payroll function and ensure operational excellence in this critical area.

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll & Labor Compliance Coordinator to manage payroll operations for both union and non-union employees in a construction environment. This role serves as the liaison with our Professional Employer Organization (PEO) partner and ensures adherence to union labor agreements and regulatory compliance standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee biweekly payroll processing for union and non-union workforce through an outsourced PEO platform, ensuring accuracy and compliance with collective bargaining requirements.
  • Validate timekeeping data and wage calculations against union agreement provisions, including classifications, differentials, and benefit allocations.
  • Prepare and submit regulatory labor reports, including certified payroll, prevailing wage documentation, and insurance program reporting as required by contracts and government agencies.
  • Act as primary liaison between internal teams and the PEO provider, coordinating workers' compensation reporting and payroll process enhancements.
  • Maintain payroll records and support compliance audits related to union agreements and labor regulations.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 3–5 years of payroll administration experience, preferably in construction or unionized settings
  • Working knowledge of union collective bargaining agreements and payroll compliance requirements
  • Experience with outsourced payroll providers or PEO platforms
  • Proficiency with payroll and timekeeping systems; strong Excel skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical capabilities

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Familiarity with certified payroll, prevailing wage laws, and construction labor compliance reporting
  • Knowledge of federal and state wage and hour regulations
  • Experience with insurance program payroll reporting (OCIP/CCIP)

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to interpret union agreements and regulatory requirements
  • Effective communication with field teams, management, and external partners
  • Capable of managing competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment
