Alliance Resource Group is exclusively partnered with a well-respected services company in their search for a Manager of Payroll.
About the Role
Lead and direct the payroll function for a large, multi-site organization. This role involves overseeing a team, ensuring compliance, and driving continuous improvement in payroll processes.
Responsibilities
- Provide thought leadership and implement Payroll best practices.
- Identify and implement process improvements to support organizational needs and achieve continuous quality improvement.
- Provide guidance on operational standards and oversee efforts to automate and improve Payroll operations.
- Ensure adherence to standards and production that results in timely and accurate payroll processing.
- Coordinate payroll operations with Finance & Accounting, HR, Operations, and other relevant departments.
- Collaborate with the HRIS team on system changes and implementations.
- Ensure superior customer service from the Payroll Team, responding to employee questions promptly.
- Ensure the resolution of escalated payroll issues.
- Lead projects focused on continuous improvement of payroll processes.
- Manage and develop Payroll Team members, including hiring, professional development, and performance evaluation.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of combined payroll experience, including 5+ years as a Manager.
- 5+ years of direct responsibility for payroll administration in a multi-site organization
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience).
- Strong knowledge of current payroll and HRIS systems
- Experience with payroll taxation at all levels (federal, state, and local).
- Excellent analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to identify and resolve complex problems.
- Ability to independently manage projects.
