Senior Manager/Director of Accounting - Property Management
Job Description
Our client is a fast growing, property management company with operations in several states. Due to growth, this is a new position and will serve as the top accounting spot for the division. Will supervise a team of five with additional headcount expected throughout the next three years.

Specific duties:
- Manage, develop, and mentor the accounting team
- Develop and maintain accounting principles to ensure all practices, procedures, and internal controls are accurate and up to date with GAAP standardsÂ
- Prepare timely and accurate monthly financial statements for assigned properties
- Serve as a key liaison with client both directly and through email
- Review general ledgers for accounts receivable and accounts payable to ensure accuracy
- Review and approve payment batchesÂ
- Manage 1099 tax reporting and compliance
- Manage federal and state tax withholding requirementsÂ
- Filing and documenting historical records
- Implement policies and procedures to increase efficiency and accuracy of department and reporting
- Complete end-to-end property management accounting including payables, receivables, bank reconciliations, move outs, offboards, etc.Â
- Complete ad hoc projects as assigned
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or relevant accounting experience
- Experience with multi-family property management
- Four plus years in a management capacity with demonstrated leadership skills
- Excellent executive presence with solid written and verbal communication
