Senior Accounting Manager

Job Description

General Summary:
We have an opportunity for a Senior Manager of Accounting for our client. This position will report to the CFO. This role will be a leader within the accounting function overseeing the month end closing process, financial review, consolidated financial reporting and cash flow analysis. Our client is in the automotive industry and services the Southern California region.
Responsibilities
  • Assist the CFO producing accurate and timely financial statements ensuring data integrity and accuracy
  • Team lead for month end closing process including account analysis, reconciliation, and internal and external reporting
  • Assist and provide oversight with all accounts, ledgers and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements
  • Provide effective leadership and promote accountability in the accounting operations team members through on-going coaching and mentoring
  • Provide direction of the accounting and reporting operations, including but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and overseeing all transactions related to the GL and month-end close
  • Provide leadership in re-designing and implementing changes to the monthly close processes and internal controls
  • Ensure accuracy of the reconciliation of the intercompany accounts and assist with recording journal entries and compiling data for the financial statements
  • Support year-end and interim financial audit process; coordinate with third-party auditors.
  • Ensure quality execution and compliance with contracts by partnering with other internal departments
  • Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate standards and regulatory requirements
  • Provide leadership in strengthening internal communications with staff at all levels throughout the organization; create and promote a positive and supportive work environment
  • Take on ad-hoc projects
Qualifications
  • Ten plus years of related experience at a small to mid-sized company, including 4+ years in management
  • Bachelors or higher degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics
  • Experience with ERP systems and advanced knowledge of Excel.
  • Ability to provide solid leadership and meet established deadlines
  • Develops realistic plans to accomplish multiple priorities simultaneously in an efficient manner
