JOB SUMMARY:

Currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Reporting Analyst that will be based in our Orange County headquarters located in Santa Ana. The successful candidate will be able to display excellent data modelling / data mining skills and overall knowledge of Financial Planning and Analysis. The candidate will have the ability to translate data into reports and sophisticated financial models supporting the Management team  in making better and more informed decisions on the business. Position will assist in the preparation and review of financial statements and related disclosures ensuring compliance with IFRS and US GAAP.

Reporting Relationships:

This position reports directly to the Partner Reporting Manager and will work collaboratively with many constituents across the organization.  Some of those include the EVP of Accounting, EVP of Investments and Asset Management, EVP of Operations, President and all levels of the management team.  This is a growth opportunity in a rapidly expanding company and industry.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Take the lead on various analytical exercises; building out financial models that will guide in the decision-making processes and present financial and economic models for the management team.
  • Develop and track key performance metrics against the company’ s strategic objectives
  • Track the results and actions of competitors, provide industry analysis, and present findings  
  • Guide cost analysis process by establishing and enforcing policies and procedures, provide trends and forecasts, explain processes and techniques, recommend actions
  • Improve financial status by analyzing results, monitoring variances, identifying trends and recommending actions to management
  • Prepare, communicate to stakeholders and actively monitor financial statement deliverables
  • Ability to reconcile Balance Sheet and P&L activity for properties that move between legal entities throughout the reporting period
  • Reconcile transactions by comparing and correcting data
  • Increase productivity by developing automated accounting applications; coordinate information requirements
  • Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing publications
  • Participate on special projects and perform other tasks as assigned
  • Adapt quickly to rapidly changing business environment with quick turnaround and deadlines

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Focus efforts on achieving high quality results consistent with the organization’ s standards
  • Demonstrate and support the organization' s ethics and values
  • Foster teamwork  
  • CPA preferred
  • Big 4 CPA Firm Audit experience preferred
  • 3+ years related experience in accounting and data analytical combined with related work experience in business intelligence, analytics and reporting, as well as thorough knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and ability to create financial models
  • Knowledge of Yardi and Real Estate industry / terminology is a major plus
  • Successful experience in a Financial Analyst position is a plus
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills.  Requires an ‘ Executive Presence’, process improvement and statistical analysis skills.
  • Desire to utilize analytical skills in order to use the data to tell a story
  • Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Demonstrated strategic and creative thinking ability
  • Proven team player with the ability to guide and influence cross-functional teams

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’ s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, or related fields
  • MBA, graduate degree preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Minimum 3 years of public accounting experience
  • Ability to effectively organize and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skill
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
