Job Description

Senior Manager, Payroll 
We’re partnering with a global, publicly traded to identify a Senior Manager of Payroll to lead complex, high-volume payroll operations in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing end-to-end, multi-state payroll processing while partnering closely with HR, Accounting, Tax, Legal, and IT. The ideal candidate brings deep payroll expertise, strong people leadership, and the ability to operate with precision during periods of change and growth.
What You’ll Do

  • Lead and oversee in-house, multi-state U.S. payroll for a large employee population

  • Manage and develop a payroll team; set standards for accuracy, timeliness, and compliance

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations

  • Oversee payroll reporting, reconciliations, journal entries, and audits

  • Partner cross-functionally on system enhancements, process improvements, and controls

  • Serve as a subject-matter expert for complex payroll matters (equity, off-cycle, adjustments, year-end filings)
What We’re Looking For

  • 8+ years of progressive payroll experience in a large, complex organization

  • Proven experience leading high-volume, multi-state payroll in an in-house environment

  • Prior people management experience required

  • Strong understanding of payroll compliance, controls, and audit support

  • Experience working with modern payroll/HRIS systems

  • Highly organized, deadline-driven, and comfortable operating in a changing environment
