Job Description
This full-time position will join the Accounting Department to perform general accounting functions under the guidance of experienced professionals for a company in the specialized Finance industry. The Senior Accountant will report directly to the Chief Accounting Officer and is responsible for ensuring the integrity and accuracy of accounting information. Â Customers of the business are in a highly diverse group of industries, including IT, Healthcare, Media & Entertainment, Transportation, Auto, Construction, among others.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Reporting:
- Reconcile accounts and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
- Support analysis of financial data to identify trends and anomalies.
- Manage a portfolio of leases, which includes reviewing new customer contracts, creating amortization schedules and recording modifications.Â
- Work closely with the CAO to implement lease management software within the existing accounting system, NetSuite.
- Post journal entries for various transactions, including revenue, expenses, and accruals.
- Perform Accounts Payable functions, including recording payments in NetSuite and issuing annual 1099s to vendors.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, including ASU 842.
- Prepare documentation to support internal and external audits.
- 4+ years of experience in public accounting and/or corporate accounting
- Experience within the lending industry is preferred, but not required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related discipline
- CPA license a plus
- Must have strong competency in MS Excel, including V-lookups and pivot tables
- Proficiency with large ERP systems, with NetSuite experience being a plusÂ
- Exceptional analytical and organizational skills, with a strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Requires a highly motivated and efficient individual who can set priorities, meet deadlines and continually look for process improvements
