Alliance Resource Group is partnered with a large publically traded company in the healthcare and real estate field, searching for an Equity Accountant

POSITION OVERVIEW & QUALIFICATIONS


Primary Duties

  • Draft equity-related content for 10-K, 10-Q, and proxy statements, ensuring accuracy by cross-referencing multiple data sources.

  • Contribute to the calculation and reconciliation of stock-based compensation expenses and maintain related records.

  • Generate journal entries for various equity instruments—such as stock options and RSAs—in alignment with ASC 718 standards.

  • Reconcile general ledger accounts tied to stock compensation programs.

  • Analyze equity compensation trends and project associated expense impacts.

  • Manage and file SEC Forms 3, 4, and 5 under Section 16 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934.

  • Prepare schedules and reports required for SEC compliance and internal reporting, while maintaining organized backup documentation.

  • Oversee the administration of equity plans, including the processing of new grants, exercises, releases, and cancellations.

  • Conduct routine reconciliations of all equity-related activity, ensuring accurate stock plan reserve maintenance.

  • Maintain and audit reports through both external vendor systems and Excel; conduct detailed reconciliations to validate data integrity.

  • Work closely with Payroll to ensure proper reporting of equity transactions, including tax compliance for mobile employees.

  • Support the implementation and enforcement of 10b5-1 trading plans and blackout windows.

  • Act as a resource for executives, employees, auditors, investors, and regulatory bodies on equity-related questions.

  • Keep current on developments in securities regulations and equity accounting standards, and communicate potential impacts.

  • Assist with audit activities, including quarterly reviews and year-end audit work.

  • Contribute to process enhancements and ensure alignment with SOX compliance standards.

  • Provide support for special projects and compensation-related analysis as needed.

Preferred Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.

  • At least 3 years of combined experience in public accounting and industry roles.

  • Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.

  • CPA or Certified Equity Professional (CEP) certification is a plus.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to communicate across all levels of the organization and with external stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated success collaborating with cross-functional teams including Legal, Payroll, HR, and external counsel.

  • Strong analytical mindset with sound judgment and troubleshooting ability.

  • High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.

  • Advanced Excel skills required.

  • Self-starter with a proactive approach and a strong sense of accountability.

  • Proven ability to handle sensitive information discreetly.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $85,000–$95,000 annually

  • Employment Type: Full-Time, Exempt
