Tax Manager - International
Job Description
The International Tax Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the company’s global tax compliance with international tax laws, and optimizing the company’s global tax position. This role requires deep expertise in international tax regulations, transfer pricing, and cross-border transactions. The ideal candidate will have experience working with publicly traded companies and will provide strategic tax advice to support the company’s global operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise on the tax implications of cross-border transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and reorganizations.
- Partner with business units to provide tax planning support for global expansion and other strategic initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with all international tax laws, including transfer pricing regulations, CFC rules, and BEPS initiatives.
- Oversee the preparation and review of foreign income tax returns, withholding tax filings, and other international tax obligations.
- Manage the global tax provision process under ASC 740, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of international tax matters.
- Prepare and review transfer pricing documentation and reports to support intercompany pricing strategies.
- Manage transfer pricing audits and inquiries from tax authorities.
- Manage and resolve international tax audits and disputes with foreign tax authorities.
- Prepare and present documentation and arguments to defend the company’s tax positions during audits.
- Stay current on global tax developments to anticipate and mitigate potential risks.
- Analyze and optimize the tax impact of foreign currency transactions, financing structures, and repatriation strategies.
- Identify opportunities for tax savings and efficiency across the company’s global operations.
- Provide guidance on tax-efficient supply chain structures and intercompany transactions.
- Work closely with legal, finance, treasury, and other departments to ensure alignment of tax strategies with business objectives.
- Collaborate with external advisors and consultants on complex international tax matters.
- Provide training and support to business units on international tax compliance and planning.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the tax department.
- Represent the tax department in meetings with senior management and external stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA, JD, or MST preferred.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in international tax
- Experience with tax compliance and reporting for publicly traded companies.
- In-depth knowledge of international tax laws, regulations, and treaties.
- Proficiency in tax software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience leading and developing a team of tax professionals.
