Job Description
Alliance Resource Group is recruiting for a Tax Manager for a publicly traded organization in Orange County. The Tax Manager will handle the preparation and review of tax provisions, tax returns, and other routine tax matters across various countries, including the U.S., Canada, Hong Kong, and China. Reporting to the U.S. Tax Senior Manager, they will also assist in training U.S.-based tax staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and prepare ASC 740 tax provision calculations and U.S. federal and state tax returns
- Handle international tax forms (5471, 8858), state apportionment, and multistate income tax returns
- Perform tax depreciation calculations and fixed asset reconciliations
- Review foreign tax provisions and tax returns for Canada, Hong Kong, and China
- Conduct transfer pricing analysis, R&D tax credit studies, and tax process improvements
- Support IRS and state tax audits
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Master’s in Business Taxation preferred)
- At least 6 years of public accounting tax experience (Big-4 and corporate tax)
- U.S. citizenship required (ITAR compliance)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Cognos, Fixed Asset CS, CorpTax, or Alteryx is beneficial
- Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking abilities
