Job Description

Our client is a diversified Real Estate firm in Orange County that develops and manages multiple property types including multi-family and hospitality. The VP of Finance / Controller  will oversee all financial and accounting operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for budget management, financial analysis, payroll, forecasting, accounts payable, accounts receivable and financial and tax reporting. 

Summary of duties:
  • Monitor the overall financial performance of the company at a corporate and property level
  • Oversee Muli-Family and Hospitality Controllers and be active in team development
  • Compile and analyze consolidated financial reporting packages
  • Prepare annual property and corporate operating budgets
  • Develop and manage financial controls in accordance with the company’s procedures
  • Communicate financial metrics to senior management and investors
  • Manage the preparation of tax returns with 3rd party accountants
  • Manage financial and tax audit process
  • Provide leadership and support to accounting staff
  • Manage payroll process

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Accounting or Finance
  • CPA and public accounting experience a plus
  • Minimum of 5 years real estate investment accounting experience in a senior accounting or financial management role
  • Strong understanding of development accounting and/or cost accounting
  • Strong communication skills
  • Exemplary analytical and organizational skills
  • Self-motivated and self-directed
  • Ability to work closely with a senior management team and outside investors

Born in Hollywood and raised in Los Angeles, Kyle was destined to be a star. When that did not work out, he did the next best thing and became a recruiter. After graduating from California State University, Long Beach with a bachelor’s degree in finance, Kyle began his professional career working in accounting as an Assistant Controller and Controller for several companies in the surf industry. After a number of years working in accounting, he became an entrepreneur and developed two successful coffee-house locations in Orange County where he was the CFO (and head barista).

In 2003 Kyle again shifted his career and became a financial recruiter in the Bay area with a large national staffing company where he was responsible for building successful recruiting teams.  Kyle joined Alliance Resource Group in 2009 as a Recruiting Manager.

Kyle is a proud parent of two girls, Maya and Sage, whom are attending college in San Francisco, CA and Paris, France. In his spare time, Kyle loves to fire up the BBQ after a good surf session.
