Job Description


We are partnering with a privately held real estate investment firm to hire a Vice President of Tax. This individual will lead the corporate tax function and serve as a key tax advisor to the company’s shareholders.

This is a highly strategic role focused on S-Corporation, pass-through, and real estate taxation. The VP of Tax will evaluate the shareholder-level tax implications of significant business decisions and provide proactive guidance around acquisitions, dispositions, financings, entity structuring, distributions, and other transactions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead tax strategy and planning for a complex S-Corporation and related pass-through entities
  • Model shareholder-level tax implications of business and investment decisions
  • Advise on real estate transactions, including 1031 exchanges, depreciation strategies, and Opportunity Zone investments
  • Oversee outside tax advisors and the compliance process
  • Manage quarterly tax estimates, distributions, basis planning, and investor/shareholder reporting
  • Partner closely with the CFO, accounting, real estate, and executive leadership
  • Translate complex tax matters into clear recommendations for senior leadership and ownership

Ideal Background
  • 7–10+ years of progressive tax experience
  • Big 4 or national accounting firm experience strongly preferred
  • Deep expertise in S-Corp/pass-through and real estate taxation
  • Experience overseeing complex tax compliance and outside advisors
  • Strong executive presence, communication skills, and business judgment
  • CPA preferred/required depending on final candidate profile
